Best Latin American Restaurant in Hackensack

Albert’s Mofongo is truly a hidden gem on Anderson Street in Hackensack! The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and has a welcoming local neighborhood feel that makes you want to come back. The food is served buffet-style, with the menu changing from day to day. The pricing is very reasonable at $15.95 for takeout and $19.95 for dine-in. They also offer a separate menu of freshly made items if you'd like to order something that's not already on the buffet. Everything we tried was delicious, but the Pernil and Sancocho really stood out. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful without being overly salty. A balance that many places don't get right. These meals tasted like true home cooking. The moro was excellent as well, and they even offer Concon ... if you know, you know! 😉 We enjoyed the food so much that we returned just a few days later for breakfast, and they didn't disappoint. Great coffee, delicious breakfast options, and a variety of fresh fruit juices made for another fantastic meal. The service was excellent throughout both visits. The women working there were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. They've been open for over a year now, and I sincerely wish them continued success. We'll definitely be regulars here and highly recommend Albert’s Mofongo to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Dominican food in the area!

Albert’s Mofongo is a great new spot! This was our first visit, and we were really impressed. The restaurant just opened two months ago, and it’s already off to a fantastic start. They offer a lunch buffet special, which is a nice bonus. We ordered the mofongo with shrimp and fried cheese, chicken breast stuffed with ham and cheese, lobster mofongo, and fried chicken bites. Every dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The mofongo was especially delicious—well-seasoned and paired beautifully with the shrimp and lobster. The stuffed chicken breast was tender and rich, and the fried chicken bites were crispy and satisfying. They have my favorite: freshly squeezed orange juice. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back!
